Customer Service -The Winning Edge - (4 hours of P&C CE Credit)
This seminar is divided into two parts - Macro Perception of Customer Service and Micro Perception of Customer
Service.  The Macro portion looks at Total Quality Management and concept of Continuous Improvement, how to I.D.
your customer, identifying Customer needs and expectations.  We also review process improvement steps and the Six
Step Process Improvement Model.  We finish this section by looking at Leadership vs Management and working in
teams.  The Micro portion looks at customer service changes from the 1980's to present on a day-to-day work basis.  
What is good service and how we can improve it on a daily basis.  We review verbal and nonverbal communication and
taking care of you in a busy customer service environment.  

Estate Planning ABC's - (2 hours of L&H CE Credit)
Covering What is Estate Planning and continuing on to introduction to wills, types of non-probate property, revocable
trusts, power of attorney, living wills, health care proxies, advance health care directives, the probate process and
lastly, planning with retirement benefits.

Commercial Property Insurance (4 Hours of P&C CE Credit)
Seminar will start with purpose and effectiveness of property insurance and the concept of first party insurance.  A
good section of the seminar will explore the BOP (Business Owner Policy) and CPP (Commercial Package Policy) and
various coverages and coverage forms.  We will then move into examples of commercial property insurance and
finalize with risk management tools, examples of controlling costs with risk management and the overall role of
insurance to protect commercial properties.  

Issues & Claims with Water Damage (2 hours P&C CE Credit)
This seminar will explore the types of water losses, including frozen pipes, surface water, and sewer backup.  The
issues that arise from these losses will also be addressed - repair v. replacement, mitigation efforts, natural v.
domestic water, etc.

Wildfire Mitigation (2 Hours of P&C CE Credit)
With wildfire a constant concern in both Colorado and Wyoming, many of you will be interested to hear what you and
your clients can do to help mitigate wildfire losses in your communities.  Pre and post-loss measures will be
addressed.  Every insurance agent should attend this seminar to obtain current updates on wildfire mitigation.

Special Liability Policies (4 Hours of P&C CE Credit)
This seminar will show the student the evolution of business liability insurance from one policy form, the Commercial
General Liability form, to a variety of special policies designed to address the specific exposures and complex nature
of protecting businesses in today's environment.  Examined will be the structure and coverages of common business
liability policies such as employment practices liability, directors and officers liability and commercial general liability
forms.

Claims Fraud (4 Hours of P&C CE Credit)
Seminar will cover Indicators of Property Fraud including general indicators, those noticed during the claims process,
indicators of burglary/theft fraud, arson for profit or fire-related fraud.  We will also look at red flags during the loss
incident and at the fire scene as well as indicators for Auto Fraud.

Claims Litigation Process - Part I (2 Hours P&C CE Credit)
Your insured is served with a summons and complaint.  Your insured call YOU!  Attend this two-hour presentation to
find out how you can best help your insured and, possibly yourself, when this situation arises.  We'll guide you
through the litigation process as it pertains to you, your insured, the insurance carrier, and the defense attorney.

Claims Litigation Process - Part II (2 Hours P&C CE Credit)
This seminar will go the next step - the claim is covered by insurance.  This will explore the different theories of
recovery under insurance.  It will cover items as valuation of damaged property, current value v. replacement cost,
theories of economic and non-economic loss. Also covered will be other theories of an insurer's obligations arising
out of as "bad faith" actions, class actions, and punitive damages.
Ethics for The Financial Services Industry: A Discussion Seminar (3 Hours Ethics CE Credit)
The behaviors of agents and insurance companies are called into question in the current financial services
environment.  What is right, what is wrong and what are our responsibilities to our clients, our companies and the
public that will set standards that conform to a discipline for dealing with both good and bad in our practices.  This
three hour class will cover moral standards, core values, codes of ethics and their application, responsibilities of both
carriers and agents and expected outcomes in building a code of ethics into our practices.  Case studies and
examples from the current ethical environment are a focus of this class.

Workers Compensation - A Historical Perspective (2 Hours P&C CE Credit)
Learn the history behind cases and our nation's cultural changes that led to the introduction of workers'
compensation laws in the U.S.  This class covers the classification system, the National Council on Compensation
Insurance, and how to define and apply class codes to a business. We will review standard exception codes.  We'll
review premium calculations, alternative risk plans to workers' comp and review current trends in this insurance line.
Attendees will learn about the assigned risk market, terror risk insurance, basic policy coverages and unique products
in both State and Federal workers' comp markets.

Workers Compensation - The Experience Rating Plan (1 Hour P&C CE Credit)
This class provides a historical perspective on the introduction of experience rating, its use in the industry, and its
impact on employers.  We'll cover how the data is reported and the role that NCCI plays in each state.  Attendees will
review actual experience mod worksheets, learn details about the influence of all data in them and we'll cover their
importance in influencing safety.  The class will review when mod factors are applied, how long they apply, and why
they often change during the policy period.  We will learn important techniques on how to find and correct errors in
the experience mod factors that can be worth thousands of premium dollars savings to employers.

Workers Compensation - Cost Containment Certification in Colorado (1 Hour P&C CE Credit)
This seminar gives indepth perspective into applying for this valuable certificate with the State of Colorado.  We will
cover the various discounts an employer is eligible for under the plan, as well as the underwriting benefits of being
certified. The class provides a step-by-step on how to support an employer through this six-step process and includes
tips on actual documentation needed to successfully achieve this certificate.  Attendees will also learn about the
certificate renewal process, appeal process, and how a carrier may apply, or deny such credits to the policy.

Offering Light Duty to Injured Workers in Colorado (1 Hour P&C CE Credit)
This class covers the specifics of offering light-duty to injured workers in Colorado.  We'll review both the benefits and
possible pitfalls of bringing injured workers back to the jobsite.  The class will cover specific situations when light
duty is not recommended and provide step-by-step procedures to accomodate the Colorado workers using Rule 6.  
Class materials include sample offer letters to the injured worker and to the treating physicians.

Introduction to Workers' Compensation Claims (1 Hour P&C CE Credit)
We will provide a historical perspective on workers' compensation claims, including exclusive remedy theories, and
today's penalties for failure to carry this mandatory insurance.  We'll cover reporting statutes, lost wages, mandatory
requirements of employers and actual case histories, as well as new legislative developments.  The attendee will learn
tips in completing the First Report of Injury form to avoid litigation, as well as the best methods to report to carriers.
We'll review subrogation, and each benefit provided by the workers compensation policy. The class will go through
injuries - from start to finish - covering the light duty offer, maximum medical improvement, defenses against litigation,
hearings, and settlement conferences.

Understanding Claims Made (2 Hours of P&C CE Credit)
Did you know....Individuals engaged in the sale, consultation or adjustment of claims-made policies in the State of
Colorado are to have a one time 2 Hour class on claims made??  This seminar is very useful for agents in other states as
well that deal with claims made.  We will discuss the difference between Claims Made vs Occurrence, Triggers for
Claims Made and answer the questions "What is the Retro Date"?  We will also look at examples of retro dates, policy
terms and claim examples.  Also covered is the reporting endorsement or "Tail" coverage, advantages and disadvantages
of Occurrence vs Claims Made and pointers for agents.

Organized Fraud (2 Hours of P&C CE Credit)
This class will cover some of the costs of insurance fraud and how organized groups are affecting the industry.  We
will discuss how organized groups work to defraud insurance companies.  We will also cover who is involved and the
types of scheme they perpetrate, including auto accident schemes, slip and fall losses, and nomadic activity.  We will
also cover the suspicious loss indicators that are involved with these type of losses.

Medical Fraud (2 Hours of P&C CE Credit)
We will cover some of the costs of insurance fraud and also how medical fraud affects the insurance industry.  We will
discuss the suspicious loss indicators involved with Bodily Injury claims, Medical Payments claims, Workers'
Compensation and Disability coverage claims.  We will also discuss medical bill schemes and issues involving
electrodiagnostic testing.

Basics of Commercial General Liability Coverage (2 Hours P&C CE Credit)
Seminar will start with business liability exposures (business responsibilities, establishing negligence and liability
standards) and continue with 5 main exposure coverages for CGL. Second half of course will cover policy structure of
CGL and policy limits.

Advanced Commercial General Liability Coverage (2 Hours P&C CE Credit)
We will begin with issues for the CGL (Litigation, Exclusions, Endorsements) and in the 2nd half continue on with more
specific endorsements, special liability response and end with agent/broker responsibility.

Risk Management Alternatives to Insurance (4 Hours P&C CE Credit)
We will begin with an overview of a company's concerns about managing risk, followed by a brief review of risk control
options.  The focus of this course is on nontraditional risk financing alternatives, primarily alternatives to traditional
insurance techniques.   Captive insurance, retrospectively rated programs, hybrid plans, finite and integrated risk
plans, securitization and other uses of capital markets will be explored.

Consumer Directed Healthcare (2 Hours L&H CE Credit)
Seminar will start with overview of What is Consumer Directed Healthcare? Why now? What does it mean to participants
and employers? Then we will get into the major benefit components including buy-up plans and financing mechanisms.  
We will then continue with non-benefit components including participant responsibility, wellness initiatives, incentives
and communication. Seminar will finalize looking at plan design, communicating the plan and measuring results along
with selecting insurer and administrator.

Ethics and The Claims Professional (3 Hours P&C CE Credit)
The course will begin by defining ethics and then moving to definition of what is a claims professional.  We will review
the Unfair Claim Practices Act and spend additional time reviewing the Colorado Unfair Claim Settlement Practices and
challenging terms.  For those interested in Wyoming, we will review the Wyoming Unfair Claim Settlement Practices.  
Continuing on the course will review 2 case studies in team environement. We will cover what happens if you violate a
statute and how to avoid Bad Faith.  We will conclude with Customer Service and finalize with some take aways.

Discovering D&O Coverage (2 Hours P&C CE Credit)
Seminar will start with today's reasons to have D&O coverage and move into policy review including insuring
agreement, coverages, who is insured, deductible, limits, exclusions and claims. We will briefly discuss D&O Excess
coverage and conclude with student take aways from the course.

Excess & Umbrella Liability Policies (2 Hours P&C CE Credit)
Starting with the general purpose and history of Excess and Umbrella liability and then moving into layers of coverage,
losses, policy forms (both occurrence and claims made), limits, and policy language/insuring agreement.  Will also
discuss TRIA, dec page and conclude with brief review and questions.

Wyoming Worker's Compensation (4 Hours P&C CE Credit Wyoming Pending)
This course has been specifically written for Wyoming as a monopolistic workers compensation state.  We will start by
reviewing the WY Workers Compensation Act and Definitions and move into Rights & Remedies of Employers/Employees,
Extra hazardous Industries & Occupations, Rates & Calculations, Premium Payments & Payroll Reports, Coverage for
"out of state" injuries, Public Contract Work and Employer Registration. The final section will be spent on Claims in
workers compensation along with Misrepresentations and/or False Statements.

Captives: Fundamentals & Features (2 Hours P&C CE Credit)
If you haven't yet experienced working with the captive market then you will especially find this seminar interesting
and unique.  We will start with the definition of a captive and then move into the history, purpose, structures and
domiciles.  Seminar will continue by exploring the types of captives along with their goals and many benefits.  We will
also look at the disadvantages and nonconventional use of captives.  Seminar will finalize by discussing risk retention
groups, TRIA Act and steps needed to form a captive.

I'm sure along your insurance career you have noticed a close connection to ethical issues and compliance, whether
it be on the job, with the state, or even at the federal level. This seminar will explore those areas where ethics and
compliance come together.  At the state level, we will look at Division of Insurance, Fair Trade Practices, Unfair Claims
Practices.  At the federal level, we will inquire as to what areas apply to property and casualty arena.  The foundation
of ethics will be discussed - including Golden Rule, Society's changing expectations and professional code of ethics
along with special responsibilities of licensed agents and/or adjusters. We will also review the ethics of insurance
sales, agent authority levels and definition of professionalism.  Lastly, we will review the remedies for noncompliance
on ethical issues and why that should not be the chosen path.  Along the way there will be case studies to review and
team interaction.

Flood Insurance (3 Hours of P&C CE Credit)
The NFIP is requiring that all licensed producers in property, casualty or personal lines of authority who sell federal
flood insurance policies have a one-time 3 hour flood training course.  This course will satisfy that requirement.  The
course will include the increased need for flood insurance, what is flood insurance, property eligibility, types of
programs, who needs flood insurance, flood maps and zones, the flood insurance policy, general rules, rating and
claims along with agency resources.  A good overall review course as well for those that have sold flood insurance in
the past
.

Business Ethics: You, Your Office and Beyond (3 Hours of Ethics CE Credit)
This brand new ethics course for 2009 revolves around three distinct areas of ethics – You, Your Office and Beyond.  
We will start the class with a ethics self-assessment and discussion followed by reviewing the Pledge of Integrity,
Principles and Virtue and a “rate yourself” section.  In Part II we will look at your work environment and the right and
wrong concepts of ethics along with responsibility and a company ethics assessment.  In Part III we go “beyond the
office” and look globally into corporate responsibility, transparency and global citizenship.  The course includes the
every popular case studies as well.

Business Income & Extra Expense (2 Hours of P&C CE Credit)
Lets try to solve the mystery of these coverages by starting with what we do know and then delve into the coverage
forms, requirements for coverage, additional coverages, coverage extensions.  We will strive to simplify the
coinsurance requirement and provide options for meeting that requirement.  The seminar will review the business
income form, some case studies and end on common errors made on Business Income.
